Frequently asked questions

How much does a drainage solution cost on average?

It depends on the extent of work involved. There are often several ways to do the job; the minimal approach can and will correct the issue, and more can be added if you want extra assurance. Typically, costs range from $1,000 to $10,000+.

How long will a yard drainage project take?

Depending on the project, it could take a day or a week. Most projects are completed within 1 to 3 days. After the initial interview we can give you a more accurate time frame.

What will happen to my lawn while work is being done?

Typically the grass will be flattened and lightly beat up. Our trencher forms a 6β€³-wide trench, whereas a backhoe typically digs a trench 2–3 times wider, so disruption is limited.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Greenway LS is a bonded, fully insured, licensed utility contractor. In Wisconsin a utility contractor license is required for sewer hookups, and we submit a plan to the municipality and obtain the permit before work begins.

Can you repair or replace a septic line?

Yes – for select projects. We can assess your system, identify the issue and recommend the best path forward. We're taking a limited number of septic jobs to make sure each one is handled with care.

How much water can a catch basin handle?

The basins we use have a maximum rating of 150 GPM – the equivalent of a 5-gallon bucket every two seconds, or 9,000 gallons per hour.

Can I drive my mower over a dry well?

Yes. They're designed to handle the weight of common machinery like riding mowers. If uncommon equipment such as a skid steer is needed in the yard, it's best to stay off the dry well location.

How many people are on your team?

Depending on the size of the job, up to three people, including the general contractor.

πŸ“Έ Upload photos of your yard (optional, recommended)

Add as many as you like. Add a note to each photo (e.g. β€œwater pools here after rain”).

TODO (backend): photos are previewed in the browser only. For launch, connect a free photo host (e.g. Cloudinary unsigned upload) – see README.

πŸ“· What photos to take

  1. Wide shot of the front yard from the street, showing the house and slope.
  2. Wide shot of the backyard from a corner, so we can see the whole lot.
  3. Problem areas up close – where water pools, soggy spots, erosion.
  4. Downspouts & sump discharge – where each one lets out.
  5. Along the foundation – any low spots or settling next to the house.
  6. During or right after rain if you can – standing water tells the story.

Tip: one wide shot plus 1–2 close-ups of each problem spot is perfect. Add a note to each photo.
